What Class 1 Licence Holders Need to Know
NSW Fair Trading Accredited Event
Class 1 Agents will need to complete NSW Fair Trading accredited event(s), in addition to completing the required CPD per area of practice.
AUSTRAC AML Training
Class 1 Agents in relevant areas of practice* must also complete AUSTRAC’s mandatory real estate AML training, developed with Blue Tribe. Further guidance will be provided once AUSTRAC finalises the delivery approach.

Yes, Proxima Academy holds formal approval from the NSW Commissioner for both online and face-to-face CPD delivery. We are one of a small number of providers authorized to deliver CPD online in NSW.
CPD requirements may vary from year to year in line with NSW Fair Trading guidelines. For the 2025–26 CPD year (1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026), NSW Fair Trading requires the following:

Yes, our curriculum is designed specifically for NSW real estate agencies and agents. All modules have been fully redeveloped to reflect current NSW legislation, regulations, and industry best practices. Content includes practical case studies and real-world scenarios.
Upon completion of all required criteria, the certificate will generally be issued within 10 business days.
The CPD year is no longer linked to licence renewal dates. The CPD year operates on a fixed annual cycle from 1 July to 30 June, regardless of an individual agent’s licence renewal date. This means that all required CPD training must be completed within this period each year, even if a licence is renewed at a different time. CPD completion is assessed separately from licence renewal, and agents are responsible for ensuring they meet all CPD requirements within the designated CPD year to remain compliant with NSW Fair Trading regulations.

Class 2 Licence Holders
Residential real estate salespeople and buyers agents must complete a minimum of 7 hours of interactive CPD training delivered by an approved provider, covering the compulsory topics relevant to their area of practice.
Class 1 Licence Holders
Class 1 licence holders must complete the same core CPD requirements applicable to their licence category and area of practice. In addition, they must attend a NSW Fair Trading accredited forum relevant to each licence category they hold. Further details regarding the accredited forum, including its duration, are yet to be confirmed by NSW Fair Trading.
Class 1 licence holders working in relevant areas of practice will also be required to complete AUSTRAC’s real estate AML training, with further guidance on delivery still to be provided.

Agency training is $4,000 for up to 20 students, with additional students charged at $199 per person.

Yes, Fair Trading has confirmed as an approved prodiver will have our approval status continue throung to 30 June 2027. We have already responded to them, confirming we will continue to offer CPD courses, and we have begun preparing training materials. An updated schedule and pricing will be published on this page.
Failure to comply with your CPD requirements may result in the suspension or cancellation of your licence or certificate. It may also result in a court penalty of up to $11,000 being imposed on you.
